95 will not start at all

bloodieddoc's picture

Hello all, new to the site, glad that I found it. I have a 1995 will a little over 300,000 miles on it and I am having an issue. The van will not start, not even turn over. I have replaced the starter, checked the battery and all fuse's, they are all good. Juice is going from battery to starter, but nothing, all the bells and chimes and lights come on but turn to start and fuel pump primes, engine makes normal noise and nothing. No dimming lights no nothing. Everything is normal minus the engine starting. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know what could be going on. And could it be the neutral saftey switch on the tranny? I hope someone can help me out on this.

Thank you

Chris

So I have replaced the

So I have replaced the neutral safety switch and nothing. I have tried the trick with the starter putting a metal piece between the positive and negative and the starter motor works just great, but still nothing. I am at my witts end with this. I still am looking for any idea after all that has been done. Anyone out there that can help, anything would be appreaciated.

Thanks

Chris

Starter

if the motors not turning over, directly apply 12 v to the starter, see if it works and the starter turns over, I have had bad rebuild starters before, they will work good on the bench at the shop, they won't in the car, get another starter.

Quest wont start

I currently have a 1994 Nissan Quest that will not start. I have replaced the starter, and the inhibitor relay. Still no start. I have tested the inhibitor socket and found two of the six sockets are not getting power. When I test the neutral switch with a direct ground to the negative terminal of the battery the vehicle will start. I am trying to locate the 10A fuse that is linked to the neutral switch. I am believing the fuse is blown.

If you are not getting anything when you try to start the vehicle. Check the fuses and the fusible links. They may be your problem.

My question is though. Does anyone know the location of the neutral switch fuse?
