mouse problem or leaves in air conditioning unit - how do I clean it out?

I either have had a mouse nest in the ac unit or have leaves. I hear the unit struggling to turn with stuff in it. How do I clean this out myself? I do not know how to access the area.

I had the same problem, the fan is located under the instrument panel. Remove the cover over the panel then remove the instrument panel. You will see the fan, I believe that there are four screws hold the fan in. Once the screws are removed pull the fan assy out and clean to your hearts desire. Don't forget to pull out your cabin air filter and vacuum that area out also.
