1997 Nissan Quest light problems

Hello !
I´m from Bavaria Germany and owner of a Canada imported ´97 Quest.
My car has a problem with the headlight and high beam. Always when I put the switch to headlight or push the lever to high beam, only the left light is burning and the right didn´t and the high beam indicator light is shining all the time.
I checked the right lamp of course and it is ok.
The car also has a daytime running light and this shines mostly on both sites, if it is not shining then the high beam indicator light shines weak.
I think the problem is a relay which has a bad contact; because in the first time the lights sometime works after a short time, but now the right side is "dead".
I´ve checked the relays in the fuse and relay box and they are good.
Did anyone know a answer for this problem??
Maybe it is the daytime control unit, behind the right relay box or the Autolamp control unit witch is build in on the right side behind the dash.
But it is heavy to get such parts in Germany.
Thanks for help.

I have exactly the same problem as yours for the same car. Drove me nuts. Your suspicion is correct, it is the Daytime Running Light Module. It is a small plastic box (about 2 /12" x 3" x 1 1/4") in the right side of the engine compartment, close to the hood and attached to the strut cover. Very easy to reach.
I tried everything you did plus, switch the relays but the problem did not move. I.e. Left light on and Right light off with high-beam indicator on. Sometimes, it would mysteriously work. Remove the control unit and take out the circuit board. Look at the board closely, it may be possible to repair, mine was.
Hope this is not too late. My lights are working again and I am happy.
