Timing Chain shouldn't need changing

We were told upon purchase that Timing Chains do NOT need to be changed. Unlike Timing Belts. This was actually a selling point. Is this not correct? Can someone confirm officially?

Use of a timing chain instead

Use of a timing chain instead of a belt is a definite advantage of Nissan VQ engines. I'm at 206K miles and still counting on my 95 Maxima timing chain.
