1994 Quest engine whine
I have either a 94 quest. There is a distinct whine coming from the engine compartment. The whine gets more and more noticeable as I reach the 2500rpm mark. This is not the sun gear problem as indicated in previous threads as the sound happens all the time and not just when the transmission is in drive.
Has any one else had this issue and possibly some idea what it could be or how to fix it?

1995 Nissan Quest engine Whine
I have a 95 nissan Quest. The engine has a very high pitched squeal. It seem louder in damp weather. I'm told the Belts are tight. When I start it the noise is so loud it turns heads. It started about a year ago. Anyone know what it might be?

Mine is not dependent on the weather. It always whines. Today I replaced the distributor and last week I replaced the O2 sensor as indicated by a trouble code. Not that I was terribly hopeful either of these would fix the problem, they didn't. I am worried that this might become a major failure at a bad time (while driving a ways from home) Any idea would be great.

No it does not sound like that. It is far more pronounced at the lower RPM. It sounds almost like bearing squeak or squeal.
