driver seat issue

hey everyone hows it going?

I hope you all had a great holidays....

my money pit of a quest is acting up again and im out of warranty (lucky me)
my front left seat started acting funny when trying to move the seat forwards, it was
stuck on one side and went forwards on the other causing the seat to stutter forwards
on an angle now it wont slide back unless we apply pressure, I'm going to take off the
cover where the switches are to try and troubleshoot, but i wanted to know if anyone here has had this issue?, and what was done to solve the problem?, I'm hoping its just something stuck in the track, but thats unlikely probably a gear of some sort or the whole rail assembly needs to be replaced...?

on another note im getting a womp womp womp... noise at slow speeds from the front, tires are new and i tried rotating them and it was the same so im guessing its a wheel bearing, does anyone know of a good place to buy these and are their any diys?

sorry for the long winded post, probably not as long as some of our quest repair bills though!

TSB

There is a TSB for loose bolts on the drivers seat. Check the bolts that attached the seat to the adjustment rail.
Sounds like maybe a wheel bearing. I've got the same issue, but, just waiting until it get's louder.

Not sure if you found a fix

Not sure if you found a fix yet but mine did the same thing and I found the problem. The seat moves forward and aft on 2 threaded rods, powered by a motor. The problem lies with the plastic/nylon gear on the outter(nearest the door) side. It is turned by the motor. The real problem is the the dealer, at least here, says you have to buy the entire seat bracket, Nissan appearently doesn't make replacement parts, just replacement units. Here is the kicker, anywhere from $400 - $600. Seems like a scam to me. I am going to be checking salvage yards for a complete bracket, ones I have found so far are around $75. I temporarily have removed the rod and the seat works fine for now. Hope this helps
