Rear automatic rear door issue - Wont stay up and my wife cant hold it up

2007 with automatic rear door. It just started to do this 3 days ago. It will go up and like shudder 3-4 times then begin to close. If you try to help it in any way it slams close. My wife cant manually hold it up and concerned with our two small girls getting around it right now.
Does anyone have any help or know where I can see the service manual on this?
