no instrument lights after stereo replacement
Submitted by grubbslinger on Sun, 2012-01-15 17:27I have a '98 Quest and do not have any instrument lights after replacing the stereo. I checked all the fuses and they are good. I removed the new stereo and re-checked my connections and they appear to be good. While I had the new stereo out I decided to install the old one to see if the lights would work...they do not. I have an extra light/dimmer switch and installed...still no instrument lights. Any suggestions?

'95 GXE Pedal to floor, slowly accelerates, never shifts
Submitted by RynoVH on Tue, 2011-12-13 23:49I've had this happen multiple times over the last 3 years. I will start to drive from a red light or such, and the vehicle will not move, if I push the pedal to the floor, it will slowly accelerate, pulling around 3k rpm, and it will never shift gears or gain power. When I get home or have someone look at it, I can't get it to replicate, so I've never figured it out. Earlier this year, I had this happen along with losing my brake pressure.

timing issue
Submitted by nuts4hotwheels on Mon, 2011-12-05 08:12I have a 1997 Mercury villager with 3.0L SFI SOHC 6cyl engine.
I replaced the timing belt. I align the three marks on the pulleys with marks on the belt. I turned the crankshaft by hand with a breaker bar and every two revolution the marks should align again, right? Well, every time it goes around twice, the belt is one notch advanced on the belt.

parts/compatibility with '99 Mercury Villager and '94 quest ?
Submitted by lavalava on Fri, 2011-11-25 11:57I have a new-to-me '94 Quest with a few little problems. Biggest--radiator fan quit working. Also automatic seat belt has bad gear (I think), and could use a few cosmetic/body things replaced, like gas tank door, hood, thing spare tire hangs from, etc.
Have offer for cheap of a '99 Villager for parts.
Any idea of cross-compatibility between two on mechanical and/or body parts, or how I would find out?
Can't afford to waste $ if most things won't match.

1994 Quest GXE Idling problem
Submitted by Shaun Bubb on Thu, 2011-11-17 04:51I have a 94 Quest that when hot starts to idle very roughly and is difficult to drive. To date I have replaced the distributer cap and coil as well as installed a 6 Bar fuel pump. The vehicle starts, idles and drives fine when cold and only gives this problem when hot. I cannot determine if this is a fuel or electrical problem.

Bogging when cold
Submitted by JoeNoble on Tue, 2011-11-15 13:57When I start my 94 it bogs if I give it gas but once it gets up to running temp it's fine. Any advice?
